Dear Friends,

I am now making a choice between a J LC Reverso Grande GMT VS JLC Reverso Squadra World Chrono

I appreciate any comments you may have in helping me with my choice.

P.S. I have also looked the prices in my research on the internet and have found some dealers online who are giving very very good discounts. Are these proprietors trustworthy? Any opinions on this side topic? And are the prices and discounts genuine?

Well, of course, depending on the size of your wrist!

If your wrist allows you both of them, so try them on, you will immediately which one will sing louder to you.

Each of them is appealing and interesting, it is a matter of size.

Thanks for sound advice and at the end of the day for me to just let this be an emotional buy.

I do have a big wrist for an Singapore guy- about 7.5 increase for a good fit. I remember wearing a few of the JLC straps and needed to use the second-last pinhole and end of the strap simply could not be nicely tucked-in...an issue with squadra hometime and the reverso grande date! I was surprised about the whole strap issue (leather) and wearing comfort that I decided to get both those watches some time back.

Nick, you are probably right. I will be trying out the Squadra World Chrono later this afternoon and hope that the rubber option will be good for me. However, I was always attracted to the Reverso Grnade GMT since like forever! It will still come to a side-by-side comparision!

.. that like all the major maisons, JLC doesn't sell its watches over the internet - only through boutiques and in person via authorised resellers. Buying a beautiful watch like a JLC is too important a matter to risk the potential problems of buying grey - so I personally would stick to the proper ADs.

As for straps, this is not a big issue, as you can order the XL size, instead of the regular.

Nicolas' advice to try it on and the right one will speak to you is perfectly correct.  But since you are asking for opinions on these two watches, I would go for the Reverso Grande GMT.  The more I look at it the more I think it is just an extraordinary watch.  It is like having two lovely watches in one.  The number of functions so elegantly presented in the grande size Reverso is just amazing especially when you consider the relatively good price for this piece. 

I think the WT Squadra is very thick, and it strikes me as the square version of the EWC without some of the EWC's most useful attributes.  The Grande GMT is much more wearable in more circumstances and is, IMHO, a more elegant piece in almost every way. I think the only choice is strap or bracelet.

Good luck in your choice.  And post some pics when you get the new watch.

I have owned the Reverso Grand GMT since its release about 4 years ago? My time flies! I have always thought that the Squadro was too big and a diversion from the historically significant Reverso. I must admit that I thought that it was an uncomfortable corporate decision to go with the fad of larger watch cases. That said, I know that people like them and I am only expressing my opinion.

The Reverso Grand GMT is a great watch. At the time of its introduction, it represented a major technological advancement for JLC's line of Reverso. It has served me very well and I have worn it on a number of trips and enjoyed the uninterupted wear of it. It has stood the test of time very well and has had no problems whatsoever.

What I think is perfect for me. Try each on and let the watch muses sing to you. You'll know which is the right one for you and forget what anyone else has to say.

I went to an authorised dealer this afternoon and was happy to see the Squadra World Chrono on display. Tried it on...big and bold! Unfortunately I did not have a side-by-side comparison today. Will have to do that sometime in the middle of the next week, given my schedule. I am still swaying at this point!

i have tried reverso grande GMT before, it looks really nice for me.

you should try both in metal first, sometimes it can't tell based on the photos.

let us know what will your final decision.

The design, visual profile, movement, case size, bracelet comfort and all the features that RG GMT has...  Trust me... RG GMT is THE watch for you

Besides... it is an iconic watch undeniably instantaneously recognizable that will set yourself just slightly apart from the rest of the beautiful time pieces out there

You must get one with s.s bracelet.... it drapes on your wrist like a satin sheet

It seems clear to me that within the last 20 hrs or so of posting this up, that I am 'swimming' amongst JLC Reverso Afficianados! I remember and have come across on various occassions some members here debating if even the RG had lost the plot...with it being a much thicker watch and losing the concept of divine proportions!

I guess the philosophy behind the reverso has always been sporting elegance and I may have to concede that the squadra range may be too much of a stretch (if not an abomination) of the pure reverso spirit!

I will look into that SS bracelet when I get to the boutique next week!!! Can't wait. So exciting! Thanks!!

You are the first one to mention that it is in limited production. I will bear that in mind when making my mind up!

I have to say that the RS WC is simply one of the best world dials I have seen on any watch!

The GranSport Chrono is an amazing watch, and the verso side of the Squadra WT is to die for, indeed.

I think these two watches are simply wonderful. The Gran Sport Chrono, I regard as one of the best reversos and a highly under-rated watch. The World Time Squadra Chrono has to be experienced to be appreciated. I have the rarer one with what I regard as the better watch band. The rubber band is ok, but the one in this photo simply flows over your wrist. For some, this latter watch is too big, not as far as I am concerned. These are the only two chrono reversos that I have - my other reversos are less complicated. I am looking forward to getting a repeater reverso .. in time (excuse the pun!).
