It is just that it is not a new watch, so there is going to be less traffic about it here on this forum than about the newer models. However, here is a link, from not too long ago, to a discussion with some nice photos of people's MUTs. Hope this will help.
The MUT is an awmazing watch, and if your wife likes it, I agree with yoiu wthis would be the ONE.

one with champagne dial and strap, and one with burgundy dial and strap. Both had diamon bezel. Then in 06/07 a black dial and strap was offered (gorgeous!!!). The silver dial is nice, but if she was thinking about a Cartier Tank, she might also consider a Reverso Classique in quartz.

The MUT is an icon...
The " Less is more " fans will appreciate it, truly.
The Tank is another nice choice, but my heart beats faster for the MUT.
Look at its case back, at its awesome profile, its superb " simplicity ".
It is a watch which is hard to beat!
For women, and for men, who all share some taste for ...elegance.
Best,
Nicolas
This is a great watch both for a man and women despite the 34mm size. I wear 44mm watches most of the time but on the few occasions I get into my Penguin suite "Tuxedo" I always wear the JLC Ultra thin.
I can't speak for the Cartier but it equally as desirable. But the JLC is one I own.
Good luck with your choice and please let us know which way you went.
And thanks you a lot for having posted some profile pictures.
This is one of the most spectacular aspect of this watch.
The Blue dial on this platinum version is also a gorgeous detail.
Best, my friend.

Just gorgeous. Oh, maybe I should try it just one more time...

Why stop there. For absolute minimalist luxury, style and class. The MUT is the one. Not even a second hand to disrupt its purity.
Yes, I was thinking the same about the Polaris, and especially the 65...
It is indeed a dressy watch, comfortable with a suit, but also with more casual wear.
I even know some friends who only have the Polaris as a Dressy watch, in their amazing collection.
The MUT is playing on another ground.
Minimalism, as you said it perfectly.
Best, my friend.

That whole look is really sharp! I am glad you agree that the '65 Pola is just so stylish and always ready for a night out. That is one of the best photos of the Pola that I have seen.
So, my problem with the MUT..is my wrist. Nothing wrong with the MUT at all. I have tried the 34mm MUT, which I have decided is the one I want, several times, but it always looks a bit too small on my wrist. My wrists are not huge, but definitely not small, and they are kind of flat on top, so the small MUT always looks just a bit lost when I am wearing it. And for me, a too small watch looks as bad as a too large one on those with smaller wrists. My dilemma.
Biut I wear teh Pola with no problem at all, albeit not as well as you.

The MUT is beautiful inside and out.
But why not let your wife decide, since, as you pointed out, the price difference is not that significant and she is the one who will be wearing it.

Hands down – MUT for sure!
But she is the one to wear it – have you checked with her that any of these two is the one she like?

Have you considered maybe one like this?

If you not in a hurry – I have something in the pipeline for the girls…
Need a week or two to put it together…

Maybe a Panerai. If you want to go in an extreme opposite direction a nice 40mm Panerai Pam 049 or 050 could fit the bill.
You never know.
