The video mentions that the numerals arre filled with "black luminor". Does anyone know what this is?

Hello GE!

Appreciate you taking the time to view the JLC Transponder event!  The Black Luminor that Seth was describing in the video is the Black colored Luminova that is applied to the markers.  During regular daylight, it's visually black colored to have a stealthy appearance, but glows like regular Luminova at night.  Hope this helps.

Great sounding sports car, and the Amvox2 looks fantastic.  I wish I could have attended the event to see both the car and the watch.

sorry I had to miss this but I did swing by late last week to see a few of the pieces, (MMR and the Extreme Lab II).

Seth was looking cool cruising around BH top down in the DBS.  The JLC BH boutique always has cool events, look forward to seeing you at the next one.   BTW, how was your trip?

I also had the pleasure of attending last night's event, and here are some photographs to commemorate the wonderful time that was had.  Thanks to Kate, Seth, and Jim for hosting another brilliant gathering at the Beverly Hills boutique. 

The Beverly Hills boutique welcomes its guests in style:

There are always delicious offerings of the non-horological variety to whet each guest's appetite for the watches to come!

One of the stars of the night!  The collaboration between Aston Martin and JLC is one of the best in the industry IMO, and has resulted in products that are a credit to both brands involved.

I love the headlamps on this DBS -- they give off a predatory gaze!



 

Move over James Bond!  There's a new spy in town!  Here's a familiar face to many -- our friend at the boutique and the JLC custom strap king -- Seth!





One of my favorite goodies from the display window last night -- the Beverly Hills boutique edition Navy Seal Alarm.


The guests have gathered, and are having a great time.  I saw lots of old friends and fellow PuristS! 

Looking for something sparkly for the holidays?  How about these?

This Bling Bling Minute Repeater is something else, right?  I actually love the movement! 

Here are some of the PuristS' watches that were in attendance last night, including a lovely vintage JLC retailed by Turler originally.  It looked so good on me I asked the owner if I could take it home!

It looks so at home on my wrist!  LOL!

Of course, my watch is not that horrible. 

Although, I wish I owned the watch in this picture below too!

Our TimeOut moderator, DRMW, has provided much nicer pictures of the new AMVOX 2 DBS Transponder prototype, so I'll just offer a few additional shots here, and say that I love the multi-level dial on this piece.  I tried to capture the effect for you here in this first shot. 

AMVOX watches are everywhere!  How do you like this AMVOX 3?

The ExtremeLab 2 made an appearance last night, and I have to say I still am enamored of this watch.  It really resonates with me for some reason.  It is WAY too big IMO, but I just love it!  I want a 42mm version!  That case and dial just SING!  Love, love, love this watch!
 





The exclusive Paris edition AMVOX 5.  I LOVE the colors on this watch!

Much to our esteemed JLC moderator Nicolas' disbelief, the world time function is my least favorite complication, so the AMVOX 5 isn't for me.  Still it's an attractive watch.

Two beasts together!  It's a killer combo!

Definitely look forward to speaking with you at the next gtg, I only noticed you were there when I was leaving and saying bye to Seth, overheard you say that you had a great time at the Back to the Future event, must have been quite a bit of nostalgia there! I've found myself indulging in my favorite 80s entertainment lately, can't stop listening to the Miami Vice soundtrack .

I would've been there ages earlier except that I was stuck behind a driver going 10 miles under the posted speed limit on Coldwater Canyon all the way from Ventura Blvd. into Beverly Hills.  I thought I was going to die!    You must've overheard me talking about our fellow Purist (and my colleague), Jed, as he actually went to the huge Back To The Future event in NYC this week.  I did work on the event, but was able to handle my responsibilities from the west coast! 

The Miami Vice soundtrack is a classic!  I like to break it out every once in a while too!

I'm a big fan of the Amvox III, even if I don't own one, for the moment.

The Amvox V, I reserve my thoughts for my post aboiut it, as I will soon put it on line.

The E.L II is  still an interesting and technical offer, even if it lost its silicon escapement.

One thing is sure, JLC knows how to welcome their guests, your pics proove it, once again.

I thought, oh Nicolas, even a new AMVOX cannot change my mind about the world time complication.  But the colors and lovely texture on the dial of that Paris edition are delightful.  Of course, it is known around these parts that I like the sky blue color based on my review of the AP ROO Montauk!    Now, the AMVOX 3 begins to please my eye more and more (AMVOX 2 remains my favorite though).

I hope you will visit the boutique with me someday!

Aren't these AMVOXs so delightfully sporty?  I think the AMVOX 2 remains my favorite, but the AMVOX 3 is gaining in charm for me a bit.  Of course, my favorite watch of the night may very well be the Extreme Lab 2.
