While visiting my Hard Disk, I noticed some pics which reveal a true MMR Obsession...

I see Master Minute Repeater everywhere!

On a Diesel Engine:

But also ...

As an advertising on some buildings. How can you still resist?



As a Tourist Sketch...



And .. On the wrist, of course!



I must have developped a serious obsession over the years for this watch, indeed.

If only they may be as good as this one!

... Rg to go for me! I can only imagine this watch under the sun, in natural light, it should be a killing!

I was lucky enough to see it on a friend's wrist some months ago... And yes, under a natural light, it is amazing!

The RG is a kind of compromise between Tradition ( RG ) and Innovation ( this stunning ruthenium open dial ).

... i saw it once, and the way the dial played with the natural light, was simply unforgetable. Rarely a watch impressed me as much. The Rg enhanced that feeling give it a bright warm feeling. In a perfect world, i can imagine it with the duometre case

You think you can do something about it if i get you out of you oil lamp? Lol...

More seriously, the thick case made me go on the titnaium version, which is more " conceptual " in my opinion, than the platinum or the rg.

Can't agree more with you on the Suometre case, by the way...One of the nicest, if not THE nicest JLC case.

Even if the Master Grande Tradition in 42 mm is not bad at all!

Clearly they are holding a winner here, so what about a duometre tourbillon for Xmas? Doesn't it make sense, with power reserve dedicated for the tourbillon. My nose is telling me that we'll see it sooner or later. Time will tell

Or the MGT GC which has a flying Tourbillon?

I fear we won't see any new Duometre before 2012, 2013...

At the exception of a white metal declination of the Duometre à Q.L.

Now, that would make a very interesting dedicated thread, to know which Duometre we would love to see.

A Tourbi, yes, but a refined one, if it has to come in a Duometre.

A striking version, such as an Alarm sounding like a minute repeater, now that would be great!

Any other idea?

... i was thinking about the tourbillon because as you've rightly mentioned, there is something missing in the catalogue of JLC in tourbillons. BUT most importantly, the main weakness was in the design of the tourbillon, the cage, etc... IMO with the duometre, the tourbillon will fit naturally in the dial. Of course, comparison with the FP journe will be inevitable, but it will be interesting to see how JLC can pull this one out. If they add a GMT feature or something else to spoil it ( they did add a perpetual foudroyante in a mellow moon complication ), in that case, its hopeless... back to gyro II And you, Nicolas, back to your lamp, with or without oil ... Lol...

As for the perpetual foudroyante on the Duometre à Q.L, I tend to disagree with you, even if I perfectly see what you mean.

Why?

Because the main goal of the Duometre à Q.L is Chronometry, and I see the moonphase  much more like a pretext, here.

Wait a bit, I prepared a post about the Q.L... It is a matter of ( short ) time beofre I put it on line.

... actually, i am about to trigger on that piece. Amazing watch, the moon looks really fantastic, and i love how it all works, the aperture, etc... The report made last year about it is quite good at explaining it, because it really needs explaining actually.

Now the big question, as the foudroyante is kind of "linking" Time and moon, if the tourbillon will do that, what will there be at 9h? Maybe 2 little hammers?? Usually they are on the other side, no? )

Anyway, that one will cost an eye for sure!

Fun guessing, but i still think that what comes next to the time will be the main idea of the watch.

Which is the Hybris Mechanica à Grande Sonnerie... With its hammers on the left side of the dial...

I need to make some repairs on mine ( A 5 ), but what a car!

That is one fascinating watch! Had the pleasure to see and hear it on the wrist of one of our Purist friends last year.
One of the two skeletonized watches I know of that I really like for not being heavily engraved.

I especially love the frontgrill shot for the story behind it. Feel the Adrenaline?
