Great post, Blomman, as always.  So, I had not realized that the DSA really does look a bit smaller than than the Pola.  Is that true or is it just the way ti appears in the photo?

The DSA is indeed smaller then the Polaris!

I will check but I think the DSA is about 39mm (Pola 42mm) and not as thick as the Polaris.

The DSA is 39, 5mm, the Polaris is indeed 42 mm, and ...

You have a difference of at least 3 mm in terms of thickness between the DSA ( circa 13 mm ) and the Pola ( 17 mm ).

I just bught a Ref 70

I just bought a Ref 70 Barometer, Alarm, Clock at an antique store here in Katy, Texas. The frame, however, is not the shiny brass or gold like in the picture on this site but a dull brown. Other than that it is identical to the picture of the Ref 70 shown here. I paid $40 USA for this beautiful little desk clock/alarm/barometer and I will keep this forever. It keeps perfect time and is in perfect condition.
I do not see any serial numbers on the back and by the numerals on the face of the clock, I estimate this to be manufactured in the 1940's but I am not really sure. Can anyone tell me when this fantastic time piece was created?

the condition of the pieces you find are just incredible to me. Mere mortals like me have to go without box, papers and discolored dials and hopefully original hands and glass!  You have to conduct a masterclass one day when you have 'completed' your collection so us padawans can go forth and conquer the antique world smile

Regarding the Le Coultre brand, as Stefan said, I too initially thought it would be incomplete to buy a timepiece with the Jaeger.  But I came around, partly out of low resistance starting with the clocks as I don't think there's much difference when it comes to the clocks. But certainly the wristwatches would depend on the model as Vlad says. Even then, I find it hard to resist a very good condition gold filled Le Coultre branded futurematic at the right price. This opens up the landscape to much more dangers and wallet emptiers!
