I have been wearing this one quite a bit recently, as I have been doing business abroad and the Geo has real utility to me:

As you can perhaps tell by looking at the case, I've been (lovingly) wearing this watch for almost 15 years (if memory serves! Can't even remember the exact date I bought it, from the AD at the Brussels Airport of all places). For me this original Geographique is still the best embodiment of the JLC Geo -- I wore it at SIHH this year when we visited with JLC, and received some very kind comments from the folks there about it!
Hope you enjoy the photo -- as always, all comments, questions, and criticisms welcomed.
Best,
Gary G
...seen at actual size, the watch appears to be almost new! The combination of lighting angle and a zillion times life-size view makes it look as if I've been out at the rock quarry with this piece.
I don't think I'll ever be inclined to sell this one, but if I do it won't be labeled LNIB, that's for sure...
Thanks for the compliment on the photo -- glad you liked it.
Best,
Gary
Thanks for the kind words, JMan -- getting a shot like this requires a fair amount of luck with lighting and camera placement -- suffice it to say that I clicked the shutter a lot of times to get this one!
Since you asked, though, I'll try some more photos and see if I get anything worth posting.
Thanks again,
Gary
I spent some time playing around with the camera and watch, and managed to get a pretty good image of the reverse of the watch:

Two fun things about this view:
1. The "Geographique" inscription -- none of this "Geographic" stuff!
2. The individually engraved serial number (in this instance #561)
Hope you enjoy!
Best,
Gary G
I was not impressed by the Reverso, at this moment: Cool, but not for me.
But, a bit later, I was smitten by 2 pieces: The Memovox, and the ... Geographique.
I made a promise to myself that one day, I will get both.
Well, I'm half the way, and still need to get a Geo.
An elegant look, serving a friendly complication: What more could we ask?
Yes, this year, JLC reissued a Geographique which is clearly inspired by the model which came immediately after yours.
So " New Look " in your title may have 2 meanings: The way you look at it, and the new look of the new Geo.
Gary, we have to meet!
Best, and thanks for sharing such a nice watch with us.
Nicolas.
I knew that you were a fan of the Geographique, but didn't know the story in this detail until now.
We must definitely meet! I will be in Las Vegas in May -- meet you there?
Best,
Gary
Always a treat to strap this one on -- one of the real keepers in my collection.
Thanks for your post!

And photo!
I love to see that your beauty shows signs of wearing.
Nicks and scratches is a part of life…
If a 15 years old watch doesn’t show traces of life – has it really lived?
An interesting detail, “L.ANGELES”, on vintage WT’s JLC used “S.FRANCISCO”.
“…all comments, comments, questions, and criticisms welcomed”
Comment: beautiful watch and photo. I think it’s great to “re-visit” an old friend in the watch box, it’s easy always look forward – “what is next”? Instead of looking back and appreciate what you already have!
Question: Could we please have more photos and maybe some personal thoughts about this watch? (I have no experience of the Geo, always interesting to know from a wearer’s point of view)
Criticisms: Too few photos…!
Thank you for sharing this one with us, Gary!

I wish this one said S. Francisco, as that's where I live!
Tried to meet your request for further details with a new post above, and added a photo of the reverse of the watch.
I'm getting to be very picky about which photos I'll post, and it can be a lot of work (and require luck) to get a good looking one, so it will take some effort for me to come up with additional nice photos of this piece -- I will put it high on my list of leisure activities.
Thanks for your post!
Best,
Gary G
Its successor, the black dial Master Geo is the one that brought me to JLC, about eight or nine years ago.
Your looks wonderful on the pics.
Thanks for sharing with us Gary.

Tks Gary.
Now can anyone tell what is the difference btw. the model with a reserve hour of 40 and the model that's 45 ?
45 hr reserve should be the newer model, right ? And the cal. is 939 etc as oppose to 899 ?
Cheers
it's maybe a cousin after all
Lovely, lovely watch and keeping the time so accurately.
