Mr. Bloman is on the right track with an updated Master Memovox.  Perhaps the larger, more refined case form, but otherwise, don't change a thing.  As well, I think a "Calatrava" style center seconds, no date model with a little more heft than the ultra thin would be great.  Maybe a power reserve, which I think makes more sense on a manual wind than an automatic.  Note that ALS omitted the power reserve on their new Daymatic with this belief.  Lastly, as others suggest, they could bring back the Geophysic in modern guise and call it a day....  Ken in NYC

As for a Geophysic, I think it would be a great start to inaugurate a new family of manual winiding movements, YES!

In fact it was a "wish" I'd posted in another website's JLC forum that we're all familiar with a while back.

My want:

A manual wind Master 8-Days with
- 37mm - 39mm diameter, reasonably substantial casework [not to heavy, not too dainty]
- Dauphine hands showing hours and minutes
- sub-seconds at 6-o'clock
- simple stick markers, no lume
- exhibition back that reveals the 8-day RDM indicator [much as was done with the JLC-powered Radiomir]
- better-than-usual level of finish on the case, face/hands and movement
- on a strap with a tang buckle.

For me, this would be JLC heaven.

There was a Master 8 Days in SS with a black dial, in a not too distant past.

The case was 41, 5 mm big, and the P.R indicator was on the dial.

So you weren't too far from your ideal.

...a low frequency movement (2,5hz) with a large diameter and a large balance wheel: in a few words, a movement inspired inspired by the chronometric movements of the past. Complications ? No, no, a big central second would be the only one !

because it might become too cumbersome to implement it on pieces that have complications that will benefit from having a winder.

I'm almost of the opinion that a chronograph (ala moonwatch) would be the most "sensible" if you want to go complicated... and time only with seconds as perhaps the most elegant for manual wind.

Beyond it, we might be in "trouble".  Besides, having a 2 day PR is enough.  I think that was meant to be so that we can have regular contact without pieces
