During the Reverso auction in May 15th of this year, in Geneva, there was also some nice stuff.
- A Days Game Calendar clock, Ref 399, from the 60ies, which is 25 cm high and 33 cam large:
- A " Golfer " Clock, housing an 8 Days movement, too, from the Fifties.Ref 409, 23 cm High and 17 cm large:
Some quick thoughts, now:
For those who want to collect the JLC Table Clocks, these auctions are a rich mine, but you will quite soon understand that this thema is truly endless.
On the other side, it is also amazing to see how diverse was the production at this moment ( 1930 / early 70ies ).
Since a bit more than 10 years, we can find such diversity when it comes to wristwatches, but what about these Table Clocks?
Indeed, this is something I would like a lot to see JLC exploring.
What about you?
Best.
Nicolas.

Nice (or let's say 'original') clocks. There was indeed a great variety. Probably more variety than any other watchmaker (i.e. not clock specialist) at the time.
Would be good to see a revival today, although I doubt there would be a big enough market (who would really want to wind a modern clock weekly in the XXIst century ? I think the Atmos - being self-sufficient - is probably the only viable mecanical clock option in our modern times)
The Golf thema had been used in the early 1930's too

I think there is a place for this kind of objects.
Winding it should not be an obstacle: You do it if you want, after all it is a family object of Time.
If you don't, you just have a superb object.
In both cases, there may well we a part of people who may well be interested, a niche, somehow.
Best, and thanks for your input and pics, Clavi.

Rich field of awesome objects, my friend.
Best,
Nicolas;
Will pay more interest on them once I will end my Vintage JLC collection... Still have 10 to 15 Vintage JLCs to grab...
Best,
Nicolas;

I hope we are not wrong, and that, with all these dedicated auctions, we won't regret our position on these clocks...
Best,
Nicolas.
