I didn't get why I was so attracted by this E 871, till a few weeks ago.

Getting my first Vintage car ( did you notice the word " first "? I am fearing the worse... ) made me suddenly understand the true meaning of my intuition.

This E 871 has a racing look, directly inspired from the Seventies ( in fact, it is from the Seventies ) and even more with this perforated strap.



I will try to take some pictures of the watch AND the car together, but having the car in a parking and the watch in the safe makes it harder to do.

when they work, its awesome, but thats only 10% of the time LOL

my previous wives (yes wives ..they drain you of money and divorces are expensive)

3. I thought I would play safe with this one:

Mercedes sl 500 R107 1989 (Nick name: die Mätresse) even this Germanic "Tank" causes loose bowel movements everytime you go for an MOT

so I divorced them, lost lots of money (not lawyers but worse: garage mechanics and car dealers LOL)

and what do I do...yes I am a bloody idiot

 

I bought a 12 year old Merc sl 300 R129!

 

I suppose thats fairly modern for me......

I love this model, this is one of my retro favourites. The shape, the colour., the numeral markers... everything you would want from a 70s watch.

About three years ago I spotted one of these on ebay. The seller hadn't listed it properly and the watch went under the radar of many. I set up my computer ready to bid but something distracted me in the last moments and I forgot to bid.

I still kick myself to this day as the watch went for a very reasonable price.

I would like to have heard the reaction when this one was originally released in the 70s... must have been a cutting edge look for that time.

It sounds like a new collectible is entering your world... and they are not as easy to store as watches!!  For as long as I can remember I have wanted an old Toyota Land Cruiser, but I have not yet allowed myself to actively look.  A good reason to keep after watches, I'll never be able to afford the old truck!!

You just reminded me to post something about watches and the Seventies... I have to find it in my mess....

As for cars, no thank you, I will jjust be happy with mmy modern and my vintage vroum vroum...

Too much place to find!
