Hi all, 

I generally like to think of myself as fairly savvy when it comes to most watches with simple complications, but this one has got me stumped. I think it's actually an issue, but thought I'd ask before I investigated with the seller/dealer. I will try to explain it as concisely as possible.

I just received a Master World Geographic today, familiarized myself with the manual, and set to playing with the watch. I know how the functions are SUPPOSED to work, but it appears that the 24 hour ring is off by an hour. 

The heart of my question is this. Shouldn't the red arrow (at 6 o'clock on the dial) ALWAYS be pointing the to the time (on the 24-hour ring) indicated by the 2nd timezone dial (at 7 o'clock on the dial)? After all, that is the purpose of the red arrow, is it not? To choose which time is displayed on the 2nd timezone.

I'm very sure this isn't correct. I'm sure the red arrow should always point to the point on the 24-hour ring that is indicated on the 2nd timezone dial. From all my manual reading and experimentation with the watch, I cannot ever move the 24-hour ring apart from the 2nd timezone dial, so I'm pretty sure it's a defect. Is there any way to resolve this, or does it have to go back to JLC?

The time is 12.30. So you are half way between 12 and 13, which is exactly what shows the red triangle.

Matt's watch on the second picture shows 5:17 on the small subdial (and on main time), but 16:17 on the time ring, so there is apparently a 1 hour sync problem between the 2 (subdial and ring), which is a factory setup default since the 2 should be aligned.

Did you tried to perform the initial sync, as was explained by an old post (Jaw)?

The watch need to be set only for the first time you use the watch, to synchronise the city marked by a red triangle at 6 o'clock to your residing city, with the the main time, the 24 hour ring time, the clock counter at 7 o'clock and the main hour and minute hands showing exactly the same time.

(1) if this has not been done, set the main hour and minutes on the watch to local time.
(2) turn crown at 2 o'clock.Display through at 6 oclock, facing the red triangular marker, the city that corresponds to the right time zone. The hour hand in the subdial moves accordingly.
(3) Pull crown at 4 o'clock out to position 2. By turning the crown clockwise or anti-clockwise, the privileged time-zone hour hand will move, simultaneously driving the 24-hour ring. Adjust the time in the subdial to show the same time as the main time, and display this time at 6 o'clock, taking account whether it is day or nigh. Push the crown back into position 1.

The displays are now syncrhonised.

If you followed this and you watch is not properly set, an AD should be contacted.

Thanks for confirming for me. I didn't want to bring it to an AD only to have them laugh and show me how it works. I will take it in under warranty.

Hi guys,

Oh dear , yes just looked at your second picture again, there is an issue sorry I responded without checking .

It didn't even have to go back to JLC. My watchmaker was able to handle it. It was as simple as I had hoped - he just lifted the 24-hour ring and rotated it one "notch".
