Yes, I confirm. There will be a JLC Boutique in NY this fall.
Why did it take so long? That is an excellent question. I think there was a partnership with Tourneau, and Wonder if it will last.
I guess it is time to develop the brand on the East Coast.

If you come for the opening, we will have to meet. Last time (quite a few years ago now) it was Paris - NY would be fun to add to the list.
Apart from that, I really, really look forward to having a proper JLC boutique here - even though it will not be that big. As I understand it the boutique will be located in the current GP boutique on Madison Avenue. That is not a big space.
But the location is pretty cool - soon we will have Vacheron, Chopard, F. P. Journe, Vacheron, Hublot, JLC, Panerai, Lange and probably a few others within a few blocks of each other. Dangerous territory for someone addicted to watches...;-) A veritable mine field.

1) I am living/working in NY for the time being. I got the opportunity to move there from Denmark through the company I work for. It took me all of 2 seconds to grab that opportunity. I have been here for approx. 1.5 years now, bought one watch and met quite a few great watch people
2) You will need quite a few pills to be able to walk down Madison Avenue by the time the JLC shop opens. It is truly a test of your will power to take that walk.

NY Welcomes the Manufacture with Open Arms!
This is outstanding news. While it isn't exactly a surprise, this is the first I've heard of a firm time frame for the arrival.
I've always regretted that JLC has no factory footprint in one of the world's premier destination cities and premium watch markets. As a resident of the NYC metro area, this will be a wonderful addition. The better factory boutiques serve as a fantastic focal point for followers of the brands, and collector community outreach activities such as cocktails, exhibitions of watchmaking craft, and the opportunities to view novelties/special editions are invaluable to building a rapport between factory and local fans.
Hopefully, this will present an opportunity to attach faces to some of the forum handles I've come to recognize.
