No, no, it is not the title of Stendhal's book, it is a dififcult question about tasts, colors, préférences...

When I see them, I must admit a certain trouble: The Black goes everywhere, very easy to wear.

The Red pops out, in a spectacular way, but is much cooler.

I already post, by anticipation, somewhow, some alternatives to this cornelian choice...

The WG Grained Dial?

The Rose Gold Chocolate?

Or the evilish Blue, Duoface?

I must say I am a bit lost...

Some lost cases will advice you to take both of them, which is not stupid, but, for the " beauty of the game " let's stick on one and only one.

Three times I have walked into the JLC boutique with the intention to buy the Rouge, but every time, I try it on and decide it is not for me. Maybe rose gold works better with my Eurasian skin tone. I am fixed on the Chocolate now and am pretty sure this is the one for me.

OK, my friend - now I know your tell...

Decision path 1 - the Rational approach :
.. The facts: as I am already having the black TT 1931,
- and already also having a white/ black duo face ( b/ wt) from 1983,
(and another Calendar Double Date plus the Reverso Gd. GMT)

- my Kudos for myself would go for the Chocolate,
probably with a close number 2 for the Blue Duo Face

Decision path 2 - the emotional primary Choice
- if I would have none (=no Reverso) yet
I probably would go for the Blue, as no 1 choice
and a very close nr 2 for the black, because of its versatility..

I love the shade of blue on this piece and the reverse side as well.

Both are gorgeous (the chocolate is nice, but not as much as the black and red imo, and I'm really not a big fan of the blue one). My view is that if you already have a Reverso, a classical one, then the Red is spectacular and what you want. But if, which was my case, you're getting your first Reverso, then the Black is not only beautiful and iconic, but also very versatile.

The black is more " passe partout ", indeed.
