It appears this alarm works like a "countdown timer" up to 2 hours.
I am guessing that the parking watch and other alarm/memovox models utilize the same alarm function based on the position of the Hour hand? I would like an alarm based on the minute hand, to be a more easily settable Countdown timer.

The Parking is not a different Alarm. It works like any other JLC Alarm watch.
The difference is the decoration of the alarm disc, which makes it maybe a bit easier to read and use.
The alarm index is not set to the hour hand. It is on a disc that you can move via the upper crown. And you can set it to the minute, or almost. As it is not always easy to set it to the exact minute, except when you want it to ring at - 5, -10, -15...
We are quite a few to plead for an Alarm countdown in a JLC Watch... Maybe one day?
