I bought the watch in September 2008 brand new. I was looking for a watch that it can be used without second thought every day at the sea for swimming(not diving).
Ever since the watch works flawlessly without any problem at all. The most impressive characteristic is the accuracy of the movement(calibre 975).+1sec/week due to the large balance with an inertia of 14mg/cm2.(The most accurate of all my watches including another 5 JLC's).
The case measures 44mm in diameter but it feels smaller and seats comfortably in my 17cm wrist due to the fact that it is made of titanium grade 5. I sent the watch for a routine first service 6 months ago and i received it back after 4 months. After thousands of hours together in the sea with my faithful companion the love for this watch increases with time. Thank you for reading. Best regards, Yiannis
I must admit that 95% of wrist time is while swimming at the sea.Almost no office time.So GMT function not really necessary. The case is in very good contition but this isn't the case for the bezel which can easily been scratched.I would prefer the ceramic bezel of the Navy Seals Alarm. Regards Yiannis

After a bit more than 6 years, you had the opportunity to test it in all the situations.
We should more often discuss that Watch, as it was a very interesting offer from JLC in the Diving Watches field.
A good competitor in this segment.

That's a great summary of your time with the MCD GMT. Like you, I've enjoyed this watch from time to time, although I've never owned one. The 44mm case certainly wears smaller than its nominal diameter, the legibility is outstanding, and the watch does a good job of standing apart in the crowded luxury dive watch segment. If anything, I feel it never had a proper chance to establish a reputation and following before the JLC Navy SEALS line became the manufacture's focus in the hardcore sports segment, and the original "MC Diver" models have been under-promoted due to that decision.
Many reports of excellent experiences with the Cal. 975 autotractor support its growing reputation for outstanding precision, even by JLC standards, and I'm surprised JLC never used the movement more widely throughout its line (too large, perhaps?).
And I have that same azure blue accordion rubber strap with my EWA Tides of Time, easily the most entertaining JLC factory strap I've owned! Continue to enjoy it in great health.

I see this one as a first experience in the diving watch category.
It is true that its short life is due to the Navy SEALs line.
But, as a first, and due to its qualities ( robustness / accuracy ) and its look, it deserves ore attention, I agree.
