In the vintage world I have no doubt, the Polaris is the winner.
But in the Tribute world, I would say that the TT DSA is slightly more popular.
That is why I started this thread.
Best, my dear friend.

Your définitions are of course, very à propos.
On a site like ours, though I was thinking about a Watch which is adopted by a huge number of our members.
Hence this small and not exhaustive selection of examples.
I must say that your examples are pretty tempting, yes.
Best, Melvyn.

When I see some endless roll calls, I have a small idea.
Of course you are right that our members represent, such like us, a huge diversity of Watch tastes.
Personaly, I have a problem to answer to this question ": Do you have a favourite brand ", as my watches belong to a bit less than 20 different brands.
But I can say that I have some favourite watches, which don't belong to the same brand.
Best, my friend.

Tributes and Vintage.
And to notice that the order of preference may change according to the category.
Interesting because Tributes and Vintage seem to play the same game, but, in fzct, they are not totally playing the same game.
The evidence? I am sure we, you and me, are not alone to change our order or préférences when it comes to Vintage or Tributes!
Best, my friend and thanks for your feedback.

Unless you are hunting it on the different collectors markets, of course.

Nicolas

The Longines Legend Diver has a superb ratio price / pleasure, a captivating dial, and it is so close to the original!
The Tudor Black Bay plays on another register, but it has something very special, too.
These JLC Tributes caught the attention of many here because of their intrinsec ( at least I hope so ) value: Quality, respect to the original ( The TT Geophysic is an exception, here ), and a damn beauty, though they are not show off.
Best,
Nicolas
Rolex Submariner and Omega Speedmaster? No... I don't see them as a Community Watch. They are too popular for that, which means that they can be everybody's Watch.
The mentionned watches have something more, and despite their lack of popularity ( compared to the Rolex and Omega competitors ), they better qualify as Community watches, in my opinion, at least.

Now, as for your answer, the 822 is not the most exciting, but by far not the ugliest nor the worse.
No, the appeal the interest is elsewhere, with the TT Reverso 1931: The challenge of the thin case which can be flipped, and the sober, siple but strong looking dial.
This Watch is special!
Best, my friend. Take care of your mother!
