I am a big fan of this forum and I always follow what's going on but never posted. I always learn new things from everyone here so thanks for that!
I am considering selling my two Hublot watches so I can buy the AP 15202. I used to be a big Hublot fan, but I recently found myself growing out of the brand and looking to resizing my collection to fewer watches but with more value and history. I currently own Rolex submariner 16610 and 16613, Rolex Milgauss GV and a PAM392.
My question is do you think I should be selling my two Hublot watches to buy the AP 15202? I know this is an AP forum and most of us here love AP, but I would greatly appreciate your unbiased opinion. I am not considering selling any of my other watches as I truly love each one of them. The Hublots I am kind of bored of them and they don't get enough wrist time. However, again I am wondering if it is worth it to lose two watches to buy one watch.
Also, does the AP 15202 retain its value? If I am to sell the Hublots I will be losing a good amount of money. I don't want this to be the case if I ever decide to sell the AP.

We hope you will become active and share this passion with your friends around the world.
I am sure you will get an even handed response from the members but from the sound of your voice you have made up your mind which is what it is all about.
As things become familiar to us we yearn from something different. The mechanics of the exchange and the values are second to the decision you are looking to validate. Go with your gut feeling.
Both brands stand on their own.

The 15202 is so different...
... it is a real icon, one of the most beautiful, timeless watches out there imho.
It also is more delicate when it comes to it's movement. The 2121 is not a rugged calibre like the movements your Hublots contain.
Whether it's worthwhile to change to the 15202 is entirely up to you and how much you desire the AP.
If it was my decision I would do it in a heartbeat ;-)

Never too late, but...
Bill makes a solid point with his comments.
One aspect to add is that the purpose and circumstances when wearing one of your Hublots vs adorning your wrist with a 15202 might be very different.
The natural habitats aren't exactly the same, and adding the 15202 would definitely add true elegance (apart from adding one of the true and tested timeless classics) to your nice collection of watches, currently covering a spectrum from casual to sporty, to keep the categories simple. The 15202 perfectly does everything from (smart) casual to formal - you're always well dressed with it.
As for the pricing and keeping its value, I guess trying to find a cheap second hand 15202 will prove a to be a challenging task and might just about answer your question in these regards.
Sacrificing two watches you seem to have grown out of in order to obtain one that will open up a new spectrum along your journey with timepieces is a fair deal and makes the new addition all the more emotionally rewarding.
Reasons for the pride and joy of owning a 15202 you will find aplenty around this forum.
You didn't choose to part with the Hublots for no reason.
As an alternative, keep the one you feel is more special to you and sell the other one while trying to get hold of an 15202...

Even I am not the biggest friend of AP,
I would change without any hesitation. It's like a jump from Skoda to Porsche.
AP's 15202 is a really beautiful watch. I bought to mine a bespoke rotor and when I happen to wear mine, the design gives me a lot of joy.

I am not willing at this point to spend money on a watch (plus the wife is not very supportive of spending on another new watch!). I also am not planning on buying a used 15202 as it is my first AP and I want to live the experience... Plus from my quick search I don't think the difference between used and new is worth considering the used...

Now I am honestly bored of the watches and I noticed that their finishing isn't that great. I also didn't find that the watches are reliable in terms of the movement. I also decided that I need quality over quantity. I want to focus on top watches with history, etc...
I think the answer is clear, and I know what I want - the AP 15202. It has been my dream watch for a while, and I have been obsessing about it for ages. However, it is the first time I ever sell a watch let alone two, so this is why I am a bit worried and debating the idea of doing the move...

I feel it is a great move which you won't regret. Now keep in mind that I'm not a Hublot fan so I am biased as .... But will try to keep my reasoning sensible.
You already have the best rugged sport watch(es) in Rolex. The Royal Oak is a classy classical watch. It's sort of a sport/dress hybrid. Only the Nautilus and Royal Oak can pull that of. So if you are looking for a timeless, classical watch with true provenance you have found it. And it is comfortable as well!

Yes, I would.
I used to like Hublot and I have owned an Ice Bang which didnt last very long.
As for the 15202, well it is a masterpiece of fine horology and I would sell those two to get it in a heartbeat.

I was in your shoes too, the AP15202 is a must have, after having half a dozen ROO, I got my 15202 from the boutique and they even gave me the travel alarm clock as an appreciation for becoming their customer, how sweet could that be. Last week, my D. Wade Hublot special was quickly traded for the holy grail AP Montoya and never missed the King Power at all. Rest assure and beware, the AP bug is a always lurking at you, one is never enough and you will soon share with us all your treasure. Looking forward to your first encounter story with 15202 and good luck....

Again, thank you very much to every single one of you! Your comments motivated me even more. I did expect to get many comments telling me to do it but didn't expect the majority to say so. I am already trying to sell the watches but to be honest the prices I am getting are very low. I am not in a rush so will wait until I get the right price. I will keep you all posted with the progress and please keep posting your comments. Thanks again
If buying watches as investments...
Buy icons. Remember, the market determines the value. So, if you buy something that everyone else wants and the supply is small, you can't lose big. Never buy a piece just because you like it unless you could care less about the money. A few icons: Patek 5711, AP Royal Oak and ROO, Rolex Submariner or GMT. Of course, the ideal situation is to buy one of these in good condition second hand. Also, stay away from Big watches 42mm and funky colors. That's my two cents on buying as an investment.
Funny thing, I regret every time I traded or sold a piece. My advice is, instead of taking a BIG hit by selling the Hublots and reducing the size of your collection, just be patient my friend. Looks like the money is coming, so just push back the purchase date.

I sold both watches and will soon pay a deposit for the 15202, but not sure of the delivery date yet! Super excited! Thanks to all your valuable comments.
