AP Canape Tourbillon
I just discovered this older model from AP, what an incredibly cool and original watch! The case has a "sofa" shape with pivoting lugs. The movement looks very well finished too! Does anyone know how well it wears on the wrist?

Apart from the tourbillon, the Canape also was released as a simple time only version as well.
Definitely worth collecting as the design stands out.
I remember it well and toyed with buying one second-hand in yellow gold, but have never seen nor could afford the tourbillon iteration. It is idyllic.

Some twenty years ago, I tried one, it was in Italy. I remember this piece very well because I was highly tempted to get one. The retail refrained my enthusiasm, at that moment. On the wrist, it was perfect.
And look at that inner angle in the movement!
Very special piece, not for everyday wear but would be a worthy addition to any collection. The dark dial version is very rare.
I wish the photos were zoomed in a bit further, but the anglage looks fairly wide on the bottom bridges.
The black polished hands and tourbillon bridge look great too. It's clearly a very well-finished watch!
This is an uber cool watch and so different from what we see today from AP. I have a buddy with this Tourbillon model and from what I remember it wears very comfortably due to the pivoting lugs...
sort of like the early IWC DaVinci Perpetual Chronographs with a similar pivoting lug system.

It's a shame AP doesn't produce watches like this and the starwheel anymore, clear examples that they do make awesome stuff beyond the RO. But ultimately, all brands are slaves to the market and what it wants 😅
