Newbie on AP, thinking of picking up my very first AP watch....AP RO 15300 Blue dial

Any views or comments ??

The 15300 is the modern interpretation of the original RO - modern in-house caliber ref 3120, nice c.40mm size with beefier bracelet links. And many people like the sweep second hand, something the original RO Jumbo doesn't have.

You can't go wrong with the model if you like the RO!

This is one watch that I told myself I would never sell.  The look is timeless, classic and unique, quality is top notch.  The price point when compared to PP Nautilus or Aquanaut makes it a real bargain.  When people are looking into this segment, the choices are: AP RO, PP Nautilus or Aquanaut, VC Overseas and maybe Breguet Marine.  AP RO will be a very good choice, the only thing you can find fault with is the water resistance of 50M whereas the others all go 100M or more.  But anyway, I am not going into the water with a watch like this.

The 15300 is a great 1st AP!  Have you had a chance to visit a AD or boutique to try one on?  Is blue your favorite color?

is a great first AP (like mentioned before) and one with a black dial is on my wrist during typing this

It is present, but never too "flashy". Quite good for 24/7 if wanted.

I've had my 15300 for over a year, and it has become my daily wearer.  I have an Aquanaut as well, and I've found the AP to be much more versatile.  The only problem that I've had is my constant use of the watch has led to some scratches, but why buy it if you can't enjoy it, right?  I bought it as a first AP and because I personally prefer the size of the RO to the Offshore.  Hope one finds its way on your wrist.

As for the colour blue, firstly its one of my favourite colours... other reason being am mostly in jeans and i thought it will complement the overall package...hehehe

Update you guys once decision is made.

I got a black dial the other day and I can't be any happier. You won't regret it. After owning so many watches, this by far is the best I've had. The craftsmanship is simply top notch!

I 've had many watches in the past, mainly rolex, this one is by far the best looking and most confortable watch I've ever owned.

quality is just top !

I chose black dial because I like the contrast with the bezel

the movement is also amazing to watch

my daily wearer in rotation with SS daytona white dial (both keepers)

good luck with your decision, but if you try it, it will be hard not to fall in love !
