Audemars Piguet

I have a Jules Audemars White Gold Equation of Time. I bought this in Vegas 2 years ago and am looking to re-set and change the face - It currently has 'Las Vegas 11h40' and now I am back in the UK I would like to re-set this to the UK and possibly get a different face

Is this an easy (and hopefully an in-expensive) thing to do?

Yes it's quite simple: you need to send the watch back to switzerland, where they will change the cams and the bezel to any location in the world.
But inexpensive... I doubt it...
They may give you some break if you don't ask for a very specific spot: ie if you ask the watch to be regulated (and have on the bezel) London, instead of a specific customization (which is possible) for Adelbury for example.
Anyway, expect your watch to be away for a couple of months, but it will also be the oportunity to have it fully serviced at the same time.

Notice how the center cam (not sur of the exact term) mimics perfectly the course of the sun in a specific spot:



They are custom made to mimic the sun movement in the sky for a specific location. Major locations (country capitals, very large cities) had the cams made in batch and kept for spare parts in switzerland. The capability to change them, along with the bezel, was one on the main strong point of the AP EOT!

I sent mine to Clearwater for a 16 week cam change. AP allows one cam change at no charge, the second change is not cheap. The tough part is the 16 weeks without it.

No need ot send to Switzerland, but to Florida AP service center in Clearwater.  I have done that.  16 weeks was estimate but in my case some critical parts were missing and took 22 weeks in total, which is actually almost half a year.  Estimated cost for change of location bezel was in the area of 3K or so, if my memory serves right.  Just call up the AP service center and you will find out.  AP is not very famous for responding to ADs' inquiry, so I suggest you deal with AP directly.
