never have i thought i would go this path as i was madly and probably still am with the ROO.
i had my fair share of ROOs over the period of time (RC, JPM, RBII, SAFARI, GP) and i thought thats my only connection to the brand. i did get the millenary chrono RG (presented 2009/2010) but got bored rather quickly with it and sold it. never a jules wearer (dont love round watches).
i wanted to go deeper in have strong routes with the brand so i did the logical thing and got the 15202 last year (this is definetly a keeper) and started to love the new size and the slimness of the case and thus expand my horizons even further.
all of the above is an abstract into to what is the true subject of matter here...i just stumbeled on this and fell madly in love although this line of ROs never really appealed to me as did the ROO did BUT this has changed and what an amazing watch it is and how refined...
without further ado...here it is...

that blue colour is another story and with the orange hands just add to the allureness of the watch.
usually i pass by the boutique and always dismissed the ROC and usually i see the ROC panda dial which is rather bland in comparison to this BUT also appealing on its on.
but that day i saw all three new versions the panda, the brown dial (which was quit dissapointing to me as i thought from photos that it would be the most intreging) and this beautiful and strinking blue dial.
im not an orange colour guy myself but this was an exception as the orange hands truely complemented the unigue blue colour of the dial (never seence this shade of blue in any RO or ROO)
its a new love story and i have a feeling this will take the long haul and stay in the saddle as i truely beleive the RO and ROC are timeless pieces.
OH and have i mentioned the movement and the integrated chrono WOW one of the best and very accurate (IMHO i think this is a better movement than the ROO even if it was in house but i'd take an integrated chrono over a modular any day)
i think 2012 should have more appealing offerings in the RO branch and i hope they present new chronos as ive discovered a new love affair within AP again
The deep blue is
amazing on this piece.
Love the second picture.
Yes, the 5980 will be a great companion too.
Enjoy it.
Best,
Goh
You are right, the RO and ROC are timeless pieces. The ROC is a good complement to your 15202. I think it is pretty wonderful to come to a brand like AP through a certain model, like the ROO, and then discover the brand further through other models like the RO and the ROC. I have gone in exactly the opposite direction as you with respect to AP, from the Jumbo to the ROO. ;-)
My only trouble with the ROC would be choosing the color dial as I love all three of the current variations (the brown, the silver, the blue) -- but I cannot argue that you chose the perfect color.
The movement is a great performer, and whether it is in house or not seems inconsequential when we speak of sucha long-time, well-performing one such as this. I have the same in my VC Overseas, and I have been impressed with its accuracy.
Enjoy the ROC for many years to come.
Best,
respo
I still remember your AP story. Good to know you are back in!
