One of AP's most complex dials
I was once told by an individual inside AP that the dial used on the Millenary Maserati was a "nightmare" to make. It features multiple canted surfaces, different sheens and guilloches, and varying dial markings.
Certainly one of my personal favorites.
The Maserati... One I immediately loved in pictures, which disappointed me on the wrist.

Was it the fit or another issue on the wrist?
I found this oval quite comfortable while I owned it.
Do we know more about the construction of the dial?
I would imagine if the sub dials are part of the stamped dial, then it might be difficult to get the ink there when printing the dial. If its added at a 2nd point, it might not be so bad. But I like the dial, it woudl be great to see some wrist shots of it, if anybody has them!

I no longer have this beautiful Millenary but sure miss it.
As I recall, the dial was constructed in 3 or 4 main pieces that were set separately. The outer discs cant towards the center of the watch. Handling it in person, you really appreciate the design intent. It is sort of like a controlled chaos if that makes sense.
I have always wanted to see the platinum version in the metal. One day, I hope.

It's true that Ap, producing mainly classical watches with plain and neat dials, it's not familiar with more elaborated and complex ones (usually typical in more sporty and casual watches).
In that sense, taking apart many skeleton or chiseled dials, the royal oaks' dials with their "tapisserie" are pretty "complex" too (if not in the scheme surely in the way they are made).
