2185F Flyback titanium questions
Hi everyone!

I'm fairly new to the forum (this is only my second post) and its great to be here. Recently I've been getting into the 2100/Leman series and I'm seriously impressed by the lineup. I'm planning to add one or more over time starting with the 2815F Titanium flyback which has been posted a few times here, most recently in Feb by Henrik: https://www.watchprosite.com/blancpain/a-marvel-from-the-late-1990s--/4.1409106.12828146/
I got a lead on this model and I'm thinking of pulling the trigger, but just wanted to check-in with owners/ex-owners or other members how their experience has been with this watch. Specifically these two questions:
- Did you have any issues with reliability during everyday wear?
- I like the strap on this model, but I recently saw the post on the Fifty Fathoms 5050 with the Titanium bracelet - I was wondering if there was an equivalent titanium bracelet for the 2185F/2100 series?
Any other general comments/opinions about the watch or lineup would be welcome too.

Also thanks to Henrik! It has been a wonderfully reliable and accurate companion and I have no reservations about the movement at all. The difference, of course, is one is a monopusher.It's a great watch!

Thanks for the input my friend. The dial on your watch looks amazing - the dial color is uncommon and very nicely done. I also like the applied Roman numerals.
I ADORE this watch. I can't say enough good about it.
The dial is off the charts. It has several different kinds of finishing (matte, high gloss, concentric rings, sunburst, turned, and on), many different levels, wonderful applied elements and excellent printing. It really has it all. Not to mention an extremely well implemented date! And all within an exceptionally wearable white gold case! My big gripe with the watch is that the dial is very hard to match a strap to.
This watch single handedly got me excited about Blancpain as a brand. I can not say enough good about this watch. It is, by far, not the most expensive watch in my collection, or the the most prestigious or desirable but I think it's my favorite to wear.

The Leman was a great series
I wish they would bring it back. As a flyback fan this has long been on my list, there are many configurations to choose from like 2 or 3 sub counters, normal or big date, etc. It is a wonderful watch, personally I would love to have one with a fancy rotor in yello gold for some extra pop, other models also have custom rotors so I would try to aim for one of those if possible.

A new Leman series would be interesting. And honestly they'd only need to make minor changes since the original design has aged well, even though it is 20 yrs old.
I would also like to add one of the LE versions - the Aqualung and/or the Rattrapante some time in the future. I was planning to start with this version

I *suspect* Blancpain never did make a titanium bracelet for this watch but really am not sure.
But here's a steel Leman Flyback! Really a superb watch, was a joy to own.

As to your questions:
Caliber F185 is a very reliable movement with its FP 1185 base being acknowledged as beautifully constructed chronograph column wheel and vertical clutch caliber. It has not exclusively been used by Blancpain in the non-Flyback version but also by Vacheron Constantin and Audemars Piguet, just to name two.
There’s no fitting titanium bracelet for this one, the 20mm X-71 has only been made in steel and precious metals.

F185 Durability

Getting back into the swing after a long time away. I wrote a review of the F585 flyback perpetual and I tried pretty hard to be overly active with the watch despite its close to 400 parts.
I have owned it for almost 20 years, played tennis, gone diving and never had an issue.
it was still keeping excellent time after 10 years when I had a full service at blancpain.

The Leman line is great!
I used to own the flyback chrono with grand date but upgraded it with the Reveil GMT. I never used the chrono amd figured the alarm would be something that would get use. With that said……the flyback chrono was an excellent watch. I really enjoyed the overall esthetic. The flyback is a great complication but something I just never utilized. I never had any issues with the watch. Kept perfect time. The sword hands are fantastic and the case is a work of art. You can’t go wrong with any of the Leman watches. Also the lume on the watch is something special to see in the dark. Good luck with your decision.
