When you think Blancpain Vintage Diver, you think Fifty Fathoms, and most specially the bigger one ( 41 mm ).

When i look at your watch it reminds me of a Seiko professional made in the very early '70 for ladies. Your watch is very unique and i have never seen anything like it. Do you have any know history of the watch? Brian

I would not worry about the English letters though.....

I did not see this Batyscaphe before, but I think it is a "marriage".
Blancpain normally used AS Anton Schild movements, and the logo on the crown is not from BP as well.

I am having trouble identifying the age, etc.. of this particular Bathyscaphe. It is a small watch (I don't know the exact dimensions) and is, as the pictures will show, in SS. It keeps perfect time, automatic with date, screw down crown and on the back is marked 25 ATMOS and 800 FEET. I would appreciate any information that anyone has about this watch (I haven't been able to find anything on-line). Also, any idea of the current market value of it? Thank you in advance,

Unfortunately, I know very little about it's provenance. I bought it from a woman whose parents lived for a long time in France (as she did as a child) so my initial impression is that it may have been purchased there. That is only a guess, though. If it was purchased in France, I wonder why the back would be marked in English (25 ATMOS & 800 FEET SWISS MADE-STEEL). The only mark on the movement is MG 232 (I'm not certain as to the last number as it is obscured by one of the spinning wheels). The large self-winding plate and most of the movement is gold colored. It was either cleaned or adjusted in 1978, as the repairman's mark is on the inside of the back. I had a question about potential value as I don't want my wife to wear it daily without having some idea of worth. I understand this forum is not a place to discuss that but if there is a forum or website that is appropriate, please let me know. Thanks very much for your response.
