Fifty Fathoms Bezel Issue
Went for a swim in my pool Sunday while wearing my new Fifty Fathoms Sport. When I got out of the pool I noticed the bezel of the FF missing! Luckily I was able to locate it at the bottom of my pool. My AD says he has never heard of this before. Watch went back to Blancpain yesterday. I asked for a written explanation of why this happened. Anyone ever experience something like this?? Not a good testimonial for an iconic dive watch.

its happened to me twice and another buddy once. my AD said there was a defect and sent it back to Swatch Group for repair. also when you get done swimming rinse the bezel and watch with fresh water.
if you swim/dive or work out with the FF, the inside of the canvas strap wears out within a year

It is not a big deal ...
as it is only a change of the "spring" under the bezel. Happened to me once as well and was solved by the boutique in one minute - if there is a new bezel in stock.
I think it was one badge with that kind of issue, only.

On theses FF you have this issue which is well known by the brand,
I have been told that the bezel, either in steel or gold can come out like it happened to you.
Do the test yourself on your owns FFs, hold it firmly into your hands and see what s happens!
They indeed just need to put a new wire and throw away the former one, which has never to be re-used, and then..enjoy!
in order to avoid issues with the strap, after a swim in seawater, plunge your watch after into a glass of tap-water, the salt will dissolve, as it made its way to the gaskets and seals and it will save your strap of being damaged in the long run.

Now I am really concerned!
My AD sent my FF to Blancpain in New Jersey. They replaced the bezel and said all was good to go. Today I got the watch back. I noticed the second hand wasn't moving! Turns out the watch completely stopped. Took it immediately back to my AD. He said they were going to talk to the rep to get me a new watch. Frankly I've never had these kinds of problems with any of my other watches. Can't imagine a Rolex having the bezel fall off in water!! Maybe Blancpain / Swatch needs to focus on quality control!
