I am new here, coming from the PP site, where I have been a lurker and rare poster for some 2 Years now. Recently, my wife bought from an auction a pretty manual wind Chopard watch in YG with Lapis Lazuli dial.

Being a watch afficionado (my wife couldn' care less, as she wants to wear it, not examine it ...), I would like to know the caliber in this watch, when it was produced and how much was the MSRP (for insurance purposes, not for resale ...).

Unfortunately for a watch lover, the piece was sold as a piece of jewellery rather than a watch ... no ref. number, just the case number 338 18 5029 1. The back of the watch is just plain except some scriblings some crazy AD might have misdone after a revision or repair.

Eric,

Chopard corporate HQ in Geneva and its boutique may be places to find out.

It seems to be a piece from after the change in company ownership so they may still have records in Geneva from the serial number you have.

Have you thought of that?
