You've got to help us out here to at least narrow down the function dial you can use , before we can conmment on the style choice........

Functions and differences aside....
just taking you up on your 3 choices literally .....I will pick the Lange 1 soiree wg . The MOP dial is wonderfully detailed and that beats the moonphase imo. The chopard is nice too but just have a touch too many things going on on the dial and loses out if you are looking for a nice dress watch.

You know this type of question "This or That" is maybe a little inane. If it means "Which
watch should I buy" that is obviously a matter of the questioner's taste. If it's meant to solicit
a poll of others' tastes, O.K. If it's meant to ask for ask for an "objective" comparison of which
watch is "better", then "better" is difficult to quantify.
I chanced to see all three watches the other day, liked them all and was struck with some
similarities. They are all close to the same diameter (38.5 for the Langes, 39.5 for the Chopard)
and height. They all have in house movements and interesting technical features. They are all
beautifully finished, both dial and movement. They all have similar functions. And they each have
a little something extra the others don't.
So, all are three handed watches with date and power reserve. In addition the Lange 1 MP
has the beautiful and "accurate" continually changing moon phase. The L1 lacks the moon
phase but has the gorgeous guilloche MOP dial. The MP on one and the dial on the other give
each a warmth that Langes don't usually have (without sacrificing a certain crispness).
The Chopard has the "extra" of the eight day power reserve (and GMT function) and
also maintains an inviting beautiful appearance (its exuberance tamed by the black,white
and silver look).
The price on all three was roughly comparable. I own a Lange but not a Chopard.
Hence my dilemma.

Besides similar price range, what draws you to L.U.C Quattro Régulateur ?

PS : For me, a couple of points which are attractive :
1) heritage.... check out the origin of Régulateur...during ancient time as THE Reference clock (time) &
2) great for traveling, 2 Timezones (with quick-set)

Hi Kong. I have always admired the Chopard LUC series
of watches ever since the original 1860 was released. The idea of original high quality movements together with
a traditional commitment to fine finish and quality was very attractive. I was also drawn to the classical look of
the early watches.
Now,of course, the Company is moving in a different direction aesthetically while adhering to it's core values.
I can't really comment on the "Tech" look watches (or even ones like the Quattro Mark II) as, unfortunately, I haven't seen
them. The Quattro Regulator is still very classical but with an updated, "modern" look I find appealing. (I also own
watches that are way more "tech" looking than any Chopard, but that's another story.) From photos this watch
evoked a response of "too many numbers" or "too many arabics", but in the real I found the whirlwind of numbers
very entertaining and the watch very well done aesthetically (For me the Chopard was more coherent aestheticaly
than,say, the AP Metropolis, which is a very nice piece indeed). The long power reserve in a manual is
another big plus for me. Certainly it would also be a great travel watch/dress watch combination for trips if
I could overcome my dread of gouging it throwing luggage from an airport carousel. Anyway, it's
a watch I am seriously considering, and it fills a hole in my collection as I do not yet own a Chopard.
By the way in your photo of the WG version the hour subdial uses romans. The one I saw uses arabics.
Also, if I remember correctly, the one I saw used black for both the hour and minute dials. Do you know if
there are differing variants of the WG version?

Indeed Chopard L.U.C still adheres to its core values though moving some of its aesthetic to more contemporary.
For the WG witih white dial, the variations are the one you've seen (black hour & minute rings) and the picture I showed (which could be still available, if you would like it, let Chopard or your AD knows).
