Chopard

I have never posted before. Recently I received such wonderful service and backup from Chopard that I felt the only proper way to say thank you to the Chopard team was to say it on a public forum.

I have a  four year old WG Strike1. A few weeks ago I had an accident with it which resulted in a small scratch. Almost invisible, but I knew it was there. The only option (for me, at least) was to get it repaired.

I took it to Chopard's London shop, who sent it to Chopard headquarters in Fleurier, Switzerland. Yesterday I collected it from the shop in London. It had been perfectly repaired (polished and replated) as well as being given a full mechanical service. I braced myself for the bill. NO CHARGE! I had to pinch myself...was I dreaming...was my fantasy life intruding on reality?  No, it was just wonderful service.

It confirms what I have suspected from my brief experience with Chopard -- that customer service is a priority, and not a profit center, for the company.  That's certainly a refreshing concept.

Thanks for sharing this here. I think it is really outstanding on the part of Chopard, and will go a long way to bring them many new clients. Specially in this day and age where their rivals are lagging in this respect. I was recently unfortunate enough to have experienced pathetic, infact the complete lack of service and spares back up from another top swiss brand, which I also posted about to warn prospective buyers.
That Chopard did such a smashing job on your watch is wonderful news, but that they did not charge you despite having almost certainly had to bear a cost to do so is outstanding, well beyond the call of their duty. It shows Chopard is in the business not just to make money, but with an ethical and humane side to their operations. Having read your post here, I am going to consider buying into the brand the next time I am in the market for another watch.

Last year I had a similar very positive experience with Chopard. One of my  LUC watches with new calibre had basic mechanical problems from day one. After an initial repair (this takes months) the issues were not resolved. In the meantime their after sales people remained extremely polity and considerate to the issue. It resulted that I received a brand new watch and a personnel gift from Mr. KFS for the uncomfortable situation I was in. This is really Customer care. Since then I wear the watch with pride and every day I enjoy the looks, the smooth operation and the features built in the watch.  When I decide to buy a high-end watch I need to be confident in the watch and the brand it represents.

The last years the forum most frequently visited by me is the Chopard forum and I follow the models closely. Their movements are always exquisite and (I find) are underrated. I find the design to extravagant of many of them, but there are always a few gems which are more my like. These are mine...

 

Dropped my five year old LUC Sport 2000 off at the NYC Boutique last month for an overhaul (to repair a broken automatic winding system). Picked it up less than 4 weeks after drop off and it's running superbly. Another superb service experience.
