Hello- first post here and am wondering if anyone can help me out, I am questioning the authenticity of a Mille Miglia GT XL that i recently purchased from a private seller.  are there any markings that can help identify a possible fake before i take t to an AD on monday? the numbers on the case back are 16/8997 and then 1120259. any thoughts are appreciated.. thank you

Firstly, I hope you have all the papers when the GT XL arrived.

Otherwise, will need to seek the assistance of the Chopard Boutiques.

The number you mentioned 16/8997 is the Reference Number for the particular model, whereas the 1120259, it is the case-number.  This case number should be kept confidential.  Together with the movement number, it could ascertain to pretty high confidence level, if the piece is genuine.
Thus when we shared pictures, it is advisable to mask out the serial number, case number and movement number.

Thank you for the reply,  if i were to post a picture of the case back would you be able to tell any further information? I do not have the papers for this watch as that is a long story, however i didnt pay a great deal for it either.  i'll figure out how to post a pic, thanks again.

matches a movement picture I found on the "Look Rich for Less" sales website. That's not a good thing.

The movement for this model is Valgranges A07.111.

Does my case back picture match any case backs of earlier GT XL models that anyone may have? sorry for the redundancy guys but id like to prepare myself for a disaster!!
