I wonder if this one would have been better looking if GP kept the 1966 design?

Or: maybe GP had the feeling to add more decoration to it as the 1966 design is quite austere?

I think that the 1966 design would have been too austere so this more "decorated dial" is for me the good surprise!

Love this watch. It's very versatile thanks to the steel case and the slightly less formal styling of the dial. I'd use it practically every day!

I may sound like Nico here but would probably have preferred it without the date - especially since it is so tiny.

.. Despite Nico's known aversion, I don't really mind the date too much..

This noble appeal will go from dressy to casual,
well - not as a tool-watch of course.

Altogether I like this 1966, obviously a GP entry level product, which I am not that sure that it is
competitive enough ..

And it is definitely a great piece. Works very well with more formal attire but will also dress down adequately well, and I am sure that someone looking for only one watch in their lives could do a lot worse than this. Also got lots of appreciation by the ladies
