Girard Perregaux

There is bracelet and bracelet, my friend.

You are not ( yet? ) a Rolex guy, but for me, the epitome of the Bracelet is the Oyster from Rolex. Classic, timeless, well made, bullet proof, and with an indisputable class.

There are some competitors in almost the same vein: Omega for the Holy Trinity, and this one from GP.

While I have problems with the big majority of bracelets ( see Gay Frères, for example ) I love those I mentioned.

And let me add... You are not turning that old!

Best,

Nicolas

Thanks so kindly :)

In general, if the design provides an option for strap or bracelet, I'll go for the strap. Not only for comfort, but I also like the ability to match a contrasting or harmonising colour.
For this Olimpico, I will go back to strap for sure, maybe will try other straps, which often changes the perception of a watch, something I like to explore.
Of the 4 bracelet watches I have, 3 are Laureatos with integrated bracelet, so no option here and 1 is the Damier which had the very rare original bracelet, so I had to keep that one of course.

That bracelet suits the watch very well. I don't mind seeing them as a permanent combination. [nt]

It kind of works, I agree Luis, but long-term I think I see a strap coming back on [nt]

That watch would look good on any type of bracelet or strap. Regards Kev. [nt]

Probably a kind of bracelet for summer / strap for winter combination...

And it looks quite good with both options my friend wink

Cheers,

Mike

As you said, playing with both options gives most versatility. [nt]

I don't know if it's your case or just a coincidence but I always select watches with bracelets for my summer holidays. May be you paid more attention to this detail because you feel better with a bracelet during summer times.

Another question: you have 4 bracelets in your collection now but, compared to all watches you own, may be bracelets just represent a little percentage among all of your timepieces.

Best wishes

Alkiro

No no, I don't have many watches... ;) [nt]

honestly, the relationship between summer and bracelet is not a given. In fact, in real summer heat, I prefer rubber straps. Also in the hot summer, I feel my wrist size differs more over the course of the day, which makes it difficult to get the right adjustment on a bracelet, while on a strap, it's super easy.

Yes for me too on a very humid day, my wrist changes

I also wear a rubber strap on my JLC EL II and it is one of my dedicated summer watches. Also, I wore a NATO nylon strap for the first time ever this year and I think nylon is very ideal for hot weather. In fact I will be ordering another NATO nylon strap and taking that watch out of the bank soon because I expect August will be a terribly hot month as usual.

Same here, not a bracelet person unless....

It is a integrated bracelet like on the Laureato.

As for bracelet on the 9238 - you should go ALL IN with a Funky one!
wink

+1000 on the Laureato

for the 9238, as I will keep the bracelet only for a few days, this will have to do wink

there is nothing wrong with you and all of my chronographs except some of them have their metal bracelets which I find more versatile and robust than leather

Regarding quality bracelets , the best ones during the 50's-70's were made by Rolex (the one with the solid end links not the riveted one), OMEGA, Zenith and GP. Rolex riveted bracelet are not so robust and tend to get lose over time

Thanks George for the additional input

good option to have bracelets. In the end, it is a personal preference and for most of the time, I prefer a strap
