Girard Perregaux Constant Escapement Only Watch 2023. .
Aaaah, the Constant Escapement... A watch which made me dream since it unveiling in 2013, if my memory serves me well.
10 years after, Girard Perregaux comes with a new version, in rose gold. 45 mm big, 14, 8 mm high.
Floating on the dial, the suspended black indices, filled with luminova. Same for the hands.
Tastes and colors... Not my favorite, because I much prefer white metal cases, but still, the Constant Escapement is a true hidden treasure.

but needed to be slimmed down a tad to 42-43mm, perhaps a slither thinner and stainless steel option.
GP never seem to push their designs or mechs which is such a shame as I think they offer incredible value.
Agree as well on the size
I am guessing, but it would be a cost issue to have to fabricate all the parts and scale down. Especially for a piece unique.
If they decide to add this to their Production line up then maybe. But I think they are unsure of the demand.
I see a cushion case re-issue to make much more sense as there will be a much broader range of demand. 38-40 mm. I believe it would be a hit. And a nice second watch for those who already have a laureato.

The movement is circa 38 mm big, so they just have to make a smaller case. It will fit in.

“I think it’s because the movement thickness and keep good proportions with the external diameter. Moreover there’s no dial, so some space is needed for indexes”
Hmmmm, not convinced. 2 mm less would not damage the space for indices, in my opinion.

The movement and hence the case had to be big. And the movement had to be big to be able to house the escapement and also the twin barrels.
Agreed on the movement size. But with a 38 mm movement, you can size the case a bit down...

It was invented by watchmaker Nicolas Dehon, who brought the idea and project with him from Rolex (who themselves developed a prototype but never intended to produce it commercially).
I would love to see this watch in the flesh.
From the pictures I can’t decide if I like the dials of the first generation more.
And yes, white metal with a black or dark blue dial might also be very appealing.
