Well, it´s just like with tourbillons.
Some do love to see them on the dial side. Others are fine with a more understated approach and prefer to see them through the back. And some few are fine with knowing there´s one inside

The downside of any modular complication on top of a base movement is the mechanism to be hidden under a solid dial.
Leaving out arguments pro and contra modular solutions, particularly for chronograph, the visible functions aren´t affected. It´s just hard to see what it does.
But when, such as the Oracle chrono above or GP´s ref. 80440/80450, it´s nice to see the wheels and lever do their work without having to unstrap the watch.
To each his own, i´d say...
