Preliminary impressions - the Vintage 45, curved square case
G'day,
the new Vintage45 found many fans by it´s sublime elegance. It´s remains a key piece for the GP collection and the 2009 iteration brings back a curved dial to match the curved (and new) case and crystal. This time, the hands a curved to allow for easier and more precise reading of the time.
In this, it´s pretty much a square of a circle - a square shaped case, a round dial.

Can you elaborate on the curvature aspect.
Thanks for all your efforts in posting the photos and first hand impressions.
While going through the press release and your impressions I noticed several remarks with regard to the curved case, hands, dial and sapphire. Could you elaborate how the new model is different from the previous ones like in the photo below.

Hi AJ,
the new model, listening to reference 25835, is basically using the same design elements.
But it´s thinner (which makes it more elegant) and the dial is curved in the same curvature as the case. The same goes for the hands, which are curved either.
This may explain:
The old reference 25800 then had a "plain" dial and hands which are not curved, which i think is particularly visible from the picture you´ve posted.
