2013 has seen a shift in my taste to more conservative styles of watch. It started last year looking at vintage 3 handers and progressed from there to getting a bit obsessed with "smart". Until now all my watches were round and with my first new watch this year I decided enough was enough, it was time to get a new shape.
After a little seaching i stumbled across the 2710's and the 2750's from GP. I liked both but felt more drawn to the 2710, being more formal than the 2750 with the pocket watch style hands, the roman numerals, the more classic sizing, round pushers and the clincher for me - a manual wind movement. I really love no date manual chrono's, couldnt really explain why other than I am naturally drawn to their simplicity. I like the visual element of no date window and the feeling of having to wind my watch every morning. I had never owned a GP and so not only was the 2710 a new shape but a new brand. The 2710 was the watch i wanted...
After a little more searching I found a nice example, that looked a little like it had been stuck in a time warp - coming on a GP strap and deployant, its original box and papers stamped in 1997, yet looking like a new watch. I took the plunge and it arrived today. First impressions are great, the finishing is really impressive and has stood the test of time, the dial details are incredibly precise, the slightly depressed sub-dials look amazing up close and the icing on the cake is the flash of blue when the hands hit the light. I am useless at photos but hopefully you get the idea, I hope you enjoy. I would love to seem some more Richeville's if anyone else has any! Best, Tim

I agree with you completely on the sub dials/date thing. I dont have a problem with three sub dials and a date window but i also dont like it at the 5 o'clock position. I personally think its a shame that manual chronographs went out of fashion other than in the out of my price range category. It seems to me there is a void for this type of chronograph amongst manufactures other than at a very high price point - GP/VC/PP etc. Best, Tim
Very good catch, in fact, I’m in desperate search for a 2710 myself. The one I’m hunting for is with the Arabic numerals, like in the below picture:

Welcome to the GP world.
I cant believe I never paid much notice to this line before - your collection is great, congrats! When I was looking I didnt see any with numerals, best of luck finding yours! Best, Tim

I really like this dial set up and color combo, congrats!!
What are the dimensions, it looks a little bigger than my 2710?

useful, thanks. I can see what you mean, i think where the strap hugs the case too it also can give that bigger look. All in all, i think its a cool family of watches. I really like your gold 27610! Thanks, Tim
