. . . and reunited in SoCal just recently.

Some of you will be familiar with one of my latest additions, a ref 2242 . . .




. . . produced for the Brazilian agent in '44 with the uncommon 18 jewel variant of the 30T2SC movement.  Imagine my surprise when a similar 2242 surfaced on eBay recently.




Keen observers will have noticed the arrow-tip seconds hand, which is correct for this reference. 

I had to have it.

So I placed a bid a week before the hammer was set to go down.  When it got down to the last hour of the auction, I started comparing my Brazilian issue with the variant in Australia.

What were the chances these two shared a production run?

 

I was so keen on winning the auction that I outbid myself three times.

   

Now at my watchmaker's for servicing; it runs, but I sourced a new balance staff and seconds pinion just in case.

Can't wait to get it back to celebrate their reunion!

You should change your name to Dr. Yes as......wow yes these two pieces are amazing and such great fun and a unique combination to say the least. (Totally joking on the change just love that you got them )
