Owned both can say hands down Rolex does it better.
This is one of the many things that separates the brands. I like them both and wear them both but I will say it how I see it from MY EXPERIENCE. My particular watches have never ran any better than a basic 2824 ETA

Actually I own the Seamaster Planet Ocean Chrono with the 9300 movement as well as the Seamaster Planet Ocean with the 2500 movement. The 9300 is accurate to the second. For over a year now...not the minute but dead on to the second. There is no doubt in my mind that 9300 is nearly a perfect design. The 2500 circa 2007 is not nearly as accurate...maybe 90-120 seconds a month. The silicon main spring makes a big difference.
I have had....
The seamaster 300, seamaster 300M 2500D movement and the new plant ocean 8900. All ran +3.5 daily. That’s not bad at all but it’s not +2/-2 thst my explorer II, datejust 41 and air king put out. I feel I have a good sample size with this being my 4rth Omega to say I am not impressed with METAS.
