(I'm not sure what the 'UK' designation stands for; it could be 'United Kingdom', but more likely 'alloy case'.  If anyone knows, please fill us in!)

. . . shouldn't be too much trouble finding one for your collection!  Small 33 mm case, though . . . not sure if it'll work given your preference for larger designs.

. . . in larger cases, including the CK 2444 at 35 mm, and of course, their American cousins refs 2179 and 2384, also 35 mm.

. . . a ca '43 ref 2292, not the later replaced-dial '56.  That's a spectacular specimen in its own right.  I negotiated for this '56 seven or eight years ago . . .

. . . but unable to come to terms with the seller.

My recollection is the seller was asking ~ $1500, which was a little on the high side then.  Today, I'd run a red light to get it at that price.
