Subtle changes
The relevant ones for me are:
- the slim chrono counter
- the movement
- the bracelet
What I do not care about:
- dot over 90: pfff I could not care less about this
- caseback: yuck
An update to such an iconic watch with this kind of heritage is a tough balancing act
Nevertheless i think Omega did quite a job going this thin line between keeping the heritage and making this watch ready for the future. Keen to see the bracelet and the clasp, from the pictures it does not look as good as the watch itself. Also from a tech point of view i was expecting to see kind of a glide lock...

having looked at it more in depth, it looks like they retained the transparent caseback which looks fine. All in all, a good release!
I’ve always thought this to be a better looking watch than the Daytona.
Slim bezel, optically larger dial (maybe it measures larger too, but all that matters is that it looks bigger), cleaner overall dial and more legible.

In terms of pricing it jumped quite a bit from 4.900CHF (1861) to 6.250 CHF (3861).
Not sure here - I read 5800 CHF (bracelet) and 5500 CHF (strap) for the Hesalith version

Its dial is not just cleaner but also less playfull and thus more timeless. But one the more interesting advantages is its case design, which is very complex and pleasing to look at in detail. [nt]
The caseback of this one reads “flight qualified... in 1965....” as opposed to just flight qualified. I wonder if that matters :-) (nt)

Looks like it has not „yet“ gone through all NASA tests to be certified.
It is a better movemen, so i dont know why it should not get the certification..
I suppose the upgrades made to the watch would be more than enough to offset the flight qualified badge. I wonder if the pusher and winding feel is better with this new movement. The old one was not so good to be honest (nt)

Question:
My “collection” is 100% Omega...Seamasters and Speedmasters (which are both ceramic). The speedys are only depth rated to 167 ft. When I asked at the Omega boutique the technician told me “don’t even swim with these”. I have noticed that a few of the 9300 speedys are rated at 10 bar for some inexplicable reason.
1. Why the difference?
2. I wish they would rate the watches at a depth suitable for the pool as if I’m going on a business trip I land up only taking my Seamaster(s) as pool / hot tub etc precludes the Speedys.

I would not swim with any watch that at least has a screw down crown...not sure why Omega does not provide a bit more water proofing on some of its collection

Stop bothering with high depth ratings. Watches are built for everyday wear!
The Moonwatch is absolutely suitable for pool and showers. Mine touches water everday.
The Speedmaster is such a great watch and an incredible value
What other manual wind chronograph has such a nice movement you can see through the back for so little $.
