I love these kind of watches, but when it.comes to wearing, i prefer more wearable ones.
but I probably prefer the versatility of the steel one, with its cool fumé dial, similar to the abyss...

Definitely to be tested on the wrist for the thickness but the dial is very good. Since I own a SD I a may prefer this one to the Rolex Deepsea.

I think I will buy this one to go with my POC and Hublot Oceanographics. Thank goodness they didn't make it less than 45.5mm. I just wish it was the 55 mm monster and when I talked to Omega about it they didn't seem too receptive with that one

Apparently the owner of the Grand is currently out of the country but . . .
. . . according to an eBay listing the height is specified as 14 mm. I have my doubts that's accurate, but will keep checking other sources.

Fabulous piece of engineering
This will put the Omega Ultra Deep directly in competition with the Rolex Deep Sea Dweller, and with substantially greater dive depth capability
Omega is upping the stakes now with the steel as well as titanium versions and at a great price point that represents value for money.
I think the Ploprof 1200m will be no longer available and will be a collector item esp the Titanium on Titanium bracelet version.
Incidentally the steel on steel bracelet is stated to weigh 260 gms!

The Ultra Deep does not use a helium release valve. The case is specially constructed to ensure that gases cannot enter!!
