I was on the list for the first generation, but refused to buy. Too chunky (my feeling back then). Then, the 2nd generation came out and it was better balanced and i was really hooked. Especially on the color👍
I see that it is 18.12mm thick but presumably that doesn't include the thickness of the Nato strap which must add another mm or two.

You're right that if this watch were actually used for diving the thickness would not matter too much, but for professional desk divers like me it is a consideration and the 18mm of a Deepsea is as much thickness as I would want!! These Omega watches look good and are technically very impressive.
I own three PO’s including the Chrono which has the same dimensions at 18mm thick. For what it is and because I usually wear it on a JetSki or a boat I do not find it cumbersome in terms of what you get in return. I am obviously not going to wear it with a suit… This latest edition seems to be the last word in diving and I think it very honestly puts OMEGA at the top of the diving world in terms of performance. I also think for a watch this size it is visually appealing on some level.
