I was curious to see who was lining up so I took a detour on my morning run to go through Times Square and see. My estimate is that it was 50% resellers, 30% Hypebeasts and probably 20% watch guys. The 20% of “watch guys” definitely didn’t look at home in that line. LOL.

Madness... In Malaysia, there was an overnight queue
even before shop opened. I guess Swatch will be extremely pleased with the demand. I will get one or two but I will wait a bit.

A long wait
In Edinburgh they were queuing overnight. I saw them outside the store at 2200 when returning from the theatre. That was for a 0900 opening. When I walked past at 1100 the queue still stretched around the block, hundreds waiting for the last few, a Swatch employee was calling out all that had sold out, it sounded like all but a couple of versions.

I am sitting here smiling, not knowing what tomorrow might bring. As for me, i would only get what i like, not necessarily what others would get.
In Times Square at 7:30am this morning there were about 500-600 people in line. Store opens 10am.
The line ran all the way from B’way to 8th Ave and was 2-3 people wide along the way.

I’m not gonna throw a wet blanket on this one. Take out the potential scalping aspect and I see it as people enjoying a horological moment. No harm in that. If I were a guy in my teens or early 20’s, I’d probably line up even if i knew i’d run the risk of them running out by the time i get inside. Could be a great reason for a gtg ;-)
As for the watch itself, I don’t like the swatch feel on my wrist to be honest. It’s just annoying to the skin granted that this one is a different material.
