Speedmaster movement question
I tend to run the chronograph on my Speedy (caliber 861) a lot. I recently read somewhere that excessive running of certain chronographs could harm the timekeeping mechanism by eroding metal surfaces in the movement. Does anyone have any insight on whether I should worry about that -- and if so, how much use is too much?
I would not run it all the time...

I personally never run it all the time.... I also was chatting with my watchmaker this AM... ( old time Omega service center owner). His thought were also in line with mine. The chronograph was not designed to be engaged all the time. According to him it could impact the time keeping of the watch. But he says if the movement is in good shape and properly serviced then you are ok running it all the time.
But back to me personally , the less work and stress the better it is in my opinion..
