I just acquire beautifull Omega Seamaster Ref 145.019, caliber 861 (see picture). All parts are original and just serviced in Omega Authorised Service (2 year warranty)
Can you help me to find out when this model was introduced? (I know it was around 1970...)
Some sources claim that this was "Soccer timer" model, others that it was "Yacht...something"
How big was the production....and is it really that rare as I havwe been told? ;-)
What would be an average expected price for such a model (exc+ condition, original Omega strap, just serviced)?
Kind regards

i doubt even Omega can now tell us how many seamaster 861's came out with that dial. its a fairly common watch in standard dial format, but the extra '45' on the dial is rarer, no more valuable, but as you know we dont do values on this forum. i think the 'soccer' name is more likely than the yachting title. there's no other reason for 45 minutes to be added on than 1/2 time and a yachting timer would have a 5 minute hi light, something to do with their starting system.
a pic or serial number of the movement would help as we can date it using omegas charts. 1 for all watches and a seperate one for speedmasters which also seems to fit early seamaster chrono's. i'think' its around 1972.
if you go onto omegas website you can do a search and get a rough idea telling you when that model was made ie between 1972 and 1975, but you can only get an extract from archives for your exact watch by paying for it.
nice looking piece in good condition so well bought. price/value is irrelevant. if you like it then its worth whatever you paid.

Thanks for the information.... I'll ask repair service to open it and come back with serial number ;-)
I grab this watch because I have never seen such a dial before (previously I had various Seamaster models, but sold them when I get fed of them ;-) .... Plus this watch is in such a nice condition.
Browsing through the official Omega catalogues I found it in 1972 German edition only. There were two models. One with and another withouth upper left crown that turnes internal bezel. On the case back it written "Seamaster, waterproof 120m"
In Italian magazine Crono Passion (January/February 2009 edition) there is an adveritisment for second-hand shop.... Bellow picture it has been written .....produced for Mexico Olympic games football referees.... but I doubt it's relevant information cause these games were before 1972?
Any info is appreciated.
Thanks
but is it possible that it relates to some footballing event in the early 70's? i dont do football so cant be much help although 72 was another olympics although Longines did the timing i think.
quite often Omega will produce a seamaster model with rotating inner bezel and one without. they did it for the chronostop and others, the rotating bezel is often more desirable to some.
get on google and see what comes up.
