Hi Nicolas,
I showed one of these rare beasts in a former thread: http://omega.watchprosite.com/show-forumpost/fi-677/pi-2587261/ti-431006/s-0/
Have a look!
They are very scarce meanwhile and the prices have gone through the ceiling after the Omegamania auction. One of the watches that benefits from the auction price wheras others do not even reach a fraction of the auction prices.
I have promissed to help you finding one - but no one showed up in the meantime.
I do not know how patient you are
But as a vinatge watch collector you must!
Kind regards
Erich
A fantastic piece, indeed.
One of the nicest Vintage Pilot watch, IMO, with the Longines, and the JLC Mark 11.
As for patience, you're absolutely right, and patient I am...
With this kind of piece, at least.
Thanks, my friend, for your help.
Best,
Nicolas
they are very rare indeed. the slightly more common model is the one with long crown stem that is often seen in the books. i've got no pic of that i'm afraid.
i bought all the museum pieces from 2001-2005 in the misguided belief that they might possibly be collectable at some stage in the future. i've only kept the 2002 Cosmic and 2004 Petrograd. a 2005 Centenary which i sold at a big loss last year was selling at a UK auction today for £800-1200(£3995 retail in 2005!!). a solid rose gold ltd ed chronometer at less than a 60's Constellation. i was very tempted
i'll be perfectly honest, i dont think its worth actively searching for an original as it could be a fruitless search. letting one fall into your lap is the best way.
good luck if you search

But never in the flesh.
What I know is that this Beast had an important size for this era ( 41 mm ).
Will follow your advice, my friend.
Best,
Nicolas
Yep, one of the most appealing Omega, to me.
I may consider the re edition, but the original is another league ( of interest and beauty).
Best,
Nicolas
