I went to one of my local AD's last Saturday to inquire about the Zenith 1/10th of a second Chrono that was introduced in Basel this year - while I was there I thought I had to try on a watch that I wasn't sure about just judging from the pictures - well to make a long story short, I ended up picking it up just a couple of hours ago...May I introduce a behemoth of a watch also known as Omega Seamaster PloProf - Plongeur Professionel for those of you who were wondering about the name

The watch is built like a tank and despite its hefty weight incredibly comfortable on the wrist.

. . . or possibly fourth forum participant with a 1200 M. One of the more intriguing aspects of the Ploprof is it's uncanny ability to appear aesthetically appealing on smaller wrists where other large watches look garish.

Objectively, it's way too large for my wrist, but I didn't get a sense that it's inappropriately large. I attribute this to it's asymmetrical case construction and turret-like bezel, which are so unusual that they dissipate established prejudices on a subliminal level. A conventionally laid out design like the Railmaster XXL looks ridiculously huge on my wrist, and I could never fathom wearing one. The Ploprof is larger than the XXL, but doesn't project the same overwhelming sense of size . . . cordially, Art

we seem to have similar wrist sizes ;-) I never thought the PloProf would look good on my wrist, but once I put it on I loved it. I have tried many oversized watches among them the IWC BP and while I love that watch it just looks out of place on my wrist - well the PloProf doesn't

Not that it is an aesthetical watch, but it has a lot of presence, strenght and ...Charm.

I couldn't agree more - pretty or beautiful are not words that come to mind with the PloProf, words like masculine, indestructible and so on suit it much better

...when I was first got my hands on my Ploprof. It has been a great joy wearing this chunky, love-it-or-hate-it watch. I used to wear my Panerai Luminor 176 and IWC GST Aquatimer regularly before the Ploprof but not anymore afterwards.
