Hi everyone,
As recently member of this forum, I thought I could share with you a small review of a watch I love, my Speedmaster Professional Mark IV.
This model has been produced from 1973 to 1974, ref ST.176.009, in the straight line of the "Mark X" series, which main visual characteristics is the "wine barrel" shaped box, a typical feature that you roughly could see in aviator's omega watchs at that time.
This watch is in stainless steel and equiped with the Lemania 1340 caliber ("1040" for Omega references), 28,800 bph. It's a very reliable caliber, that is in particular recognizable by the very hard chronograph buttons ^^.
Its dimensions are 45 mm long, 41.5 mm wide (without the crown), 15.5 mm thick and it weighs 100 grs with a leather bracelet (nearly 150 grs with SS bracelet).
My model was originaly equiped with the Omega shark bracelet and I just bought a new black one in Paris (not from Omega). The buckle is authentic too.
As this watch had gone through many adventures (including "accidental" diving session), I had it recently taken for a rejuvenation period in Omega Bienne. The dial is authentic and the box was polished but the crown, buttons and hands have been changed.
Enough talk, here are the pictures :

And finally the wristshots :

I hope you have enjoyed this little review.
Good night,
Mark
This message has been edited by Boréale on 2011-04-04 15:04:58for Omega I think. A symbol of 70's specific aesthetics with a good Lemania caliber.
My watch had received many strokes (sailing) and the box was full of scars, it was really well restored, keeping the angles square. As you mentionned, and you probably guessed, I forgot to say that the crystal has also been changed. But you're right Art, I didn't know the polishing of the box would have led to this result, I wear it 6 days /7 ^^
Thanks for your comments both, and MRSnak you're half way !
Cordially,
Mark

Maybe because it came from my familly but it is a great watch, in many details, and quite well balanced and sober.
Thanks all for your messages,
Mark

enjoy it and i look forward to seeing it on wristscans in the future.
this is the type of watch that shows clearly why there are more vintage Omegas on this forum than any other brand. we just love quality.

I indeed already saw a picture of yours Georges (you're worldwide famous you know), with 2 or 3 other Mark X owner, and I must say that's also a bit of what made me send it to Bienne.
Have a good day,
Mark
