...on the dial - never seen this before - any thoughts? Also there's no obvious markings on the back, some very faint letters that can't be made out.

Any advice from the experts would help.

if you can get detailed pics of dial, caseback, in fact everything we'll all be able to have a look, but even the most expert will be cautious without provenance.
