Omega

Hi everyone,
Here is my latest acquisition in Omega.  I always have bad luck in omega with missing bezels.  My first was the speedy 2915 and now this one.  But I felt so lucky to own this one.  Inspite of the missing bezel and the non original crown, everything is original as far a I can tell.  I like the matt & gilt dial.  The is watch dated 1957 on the calibre 501 movement.

Those hands look perfect against the dial.  Whatever else you do, never change those hands!

Thanks for the  comments.  Any idea why the lume darkened almost completely?  Usually, one some darkening but not like this.  Could it be from too much sun rays and moisture?

. . . removed? It looks to me that the lume has been excavated from the dial.

A terrific find, nevertheless.

i also notice that the lume has been very cleanly cut out of the dial which i've never seen before. thats a shame as the original lume is always better than relume and who knows what people will think about no lume at all.

personally i would never buy a first model sm300 without a bezel as they are so rare, but the fun is in the hunt so happy hunting

Huge congratulations on the SM300. And I am sure you will soon find a matching bezel. I just love the patina of your dial and hands. Funny how the lume almost made a meteor crater I am hunting the holy Trinity (as well?), here is a picture of my SM300 saying hallo Hagwe Hans
