Omega

I am in the market for my first Omega! I started out looking at vintage, but cam across a Chronometer, of recent vintage. However it does not have a model on the face.  I called the vendor in NY, he explained it was a dealer closeout and was a De Ville. manufactured within the past 2 years. Any insight would be much appriciated. Scott

I had owned one and pruchased on 1995/6 and it is simple and very beautiful. there use ETA 2482-A1 and Omega modified and become 1142 as the in house movement. I had already used for 16 yrs and still function well. In recently years, alot of manufacturer design and build 3 hands watch eg. seiko,etc but I still perfer this one. it is really reason price at that time. Thought out the 16 years, I only sent for servicing one time and it it very accurcy. old technology may be more realiable.

How many years did they continue to make it after 95? Thanks i appriciate the info. Can you recall what the cost new was?  The vendor is asking $1300.

After launch in 95,  it continue for about few year and then discontinue. I purchased it  with bracelet  and is about the price you quoted. In other words,  I used it for the past 16 years and it did not depreciated. it hold certain value. I am happy ! in fact with bracelet during 95, it cost 30+% more.

Believed me, it is a very accurcy watch, in fact better than some well know brand which I also have some. todate, is still very classic and will not go out of fashion.  in fact,  the trench is toward simple 3 hands watch.
