The Seamaster Professional Co-Axial Chronometer 600m “Planet Ocean” was launched in the year of 2005 with black or orange turning bezel.
As the origin of Planet Ocean is from the diving family, the Seamaster ...
hence a concise history of the well-known divers ...
The Gents' Collections consist of the three variations : Planet Ocean Chrono ( case diameter 45.5mm) , Planet Ocean Big Size (45.5mm) and Planet Ocean (42mm).
All are rated 600m for water-resistance and equipped with automatic movements with Co-axial escapement Calibre 8500/8501, 8520/8521 for time-only models and Calibre 9300 for the Chronograph models.
I did a quick count, just the Gents' Collection of Planet Ocean has 60 references while the Ladies' Collection has 28 references !
After which a rundown of the current year collection ...
Starting with this outstanding piece (which was on David's wrist) the 45.50mm Grade-5 Titanium Liquidmetal® Chronograph with a striking blue dial and blue bezel. A world premiere.
Within is the automatic Co-axial Cal 9300 with column-wheel, Si 14 silicon balance-spring and comes with the option of either blue integrated rubber strap or titanium bracelet. The movement beats at 25,200VPH or 3.5Hz and has a power reserve of 60 hours supported by double barrels.

Key features of the Planet Ocean are related to legibility under the deep water - all indexes and hands are coated with SuperLuminova including the reference marker on the unidirectional bezel. To ensure no confusion, all the luminescent are white SuperLuminova which emit blue light ; with the exception of the minute-hand and the bezel reference dot, the luminescent emit green light.
Next were both Steel Planet Ocean Big Size 45.5mm with matt black ceramic bezel ...
and Orange matt aluminium bezel .
Both are with Cal 9300 too.
Next are the bejeweled time-only models which comes in two case sizes 42mm or 37.50mm (for ladies) in steel or rose gold cases.
Bezel is paved with 42 diamonds of total 2.14 carats for the 42mm case while the 37.5mm case is also paved with 42 diamonds with total of 1.55 carats.
Movements within are automatic Co-axial Cal 8500 or 8520.

Double Launch for OMEGA Malaysia
In the month of October, OMEGA Malaysia combined the
launch of the new Planet Ocean with another major milestone, the
unveiling its largest global concept store in Malaysia at Starhill with
international film star and the brand’s ambassador, Simon Yam.
Regional press members were invited to the 'OMEGA Day'. A tour of the OMEGA Starhill Boutique just before noon and followd by lunch. Subsequently the Planet Ocean Launch event in the evening.
Now a recount of the day ....
The relaunched 1600 square feet Starhill Boutique in Kuala Lumpur is refurbished with the new concept design by well-known Japanese architect Kazuo Adachi, together with his partner Hiroshi Yamashita of design Fresco Inc.
The design concept explained :
The brilliant lighting illuminating the products in the show window represents the sun’s light rays. A stroke pattern above the displays casts shadows and reflects light – a perfect depiction of clouds gathering water to generate rain. Vertical tracks express rainfall; the rain, in turn, symbolizes time which is never still and which never returns in exactly the same form. Finally, below the displays, chiselled and silvered glass suggests an exposed cross section of the earth, which reveals a history of time.

This 56-year-old Hong Kong gentleman is in the showbiz for more than twenty years and has won numerous Best Actor awards.
He is also an ambasador for OMEGA since 2000!
